The bad: Because it's well made, it is fairly heavy. It is, as you should expect, pretty unwieldy when extended even part way. When extended all the way it is an out and out beast.
The ugly: When it is extended most of the way, coupled with the u-shaped gutter attachment and hooked up to a 3,000 psi pressure washer with a 30 deg. tip the beast now has a bad attitude. As the force of the water exiting the tip pushes the pole back it actually bows out the aluminum pole section. I think it is reasonable to say that most folks will struggle when using this thing. (More customer reviews)I just bought this machine today 6/3/09 so I haven't had extensive experience with it. However, from what I've seen so far it should be a nice machine for the home handyman. I got it out of the box and put the handle on it and put the wand together along with the hose. Pretty straight forward and no complicated maneuvers required. I put oil in the crankcase and gas in the tank then pulled the handle. It started the FIRST TIME! I was impressed. I then proceeded to clean off my riding lawnmower to give it a test. I turned the mower on its side and it ripped the old caked grass right out of the mower with no problem. I then adjusted the wand for a "fan" spray and sprayed a few boards on my house to see how well it would take off the old paint in preparation for a new coat. Did the job just fine without damaging the wood. I wasn't sure how I was going to like the adjustable nozzle, which goes from a straight stream to a nice wide fan and everything in-between. But I do like it. So far it looks like a winner. I have a lot of chores scheduled for this machine this summer so I'll know more by fall but so far it looks good.

(More customer reviews)I purchased one of these a few years ago and it is really a remarkable unit. The price on Amazon is way out of the park so I wouldn't recommend buying it here, but if you can find one more reasonably priced, they are absolutely rock solid units.
These put out more pressure than the other junk they sell at the big box stores, have a better motor and a high grade, industrial triplex pump from CAT, which is a premier pump brand for these types of washers. You will regret going cheap on the pump, and to a lesser degree the motor, but with this unit you get the best of both so there's no compromise to be made.
For the money spent, this unit was absolutely the best value in the market place. It really is a commercial-grade product trying to fit in a home-user market, which is why the price point is so far above the other home-user models. You really do get what you pay for in the market for a pressure washer and, if you plan to use it hard for want the best bang for your buck, you would be well served to buy one of these.
Honestly speaking, even at the prices shown here, I'd still buy it again because it's that good. This thing is truly overbuilt and rock solid and you will never regret buying it.

(More customer reviews)I'm not sure if I got a defective pump or if the pump design just isn't good. Worked great for about 20 minutes blasting away then suddenly lost power noticeably. Oil level is fine...checked water flow rate out of spigot before ever using the pump, fills a 5 gallon bucket in half the time listed as a minimum. I'm wondering if it is a heating problem causing friction in the valves, as from a cold start it is at high pressure then drops SUDDENLY after the pump warms up. Pump never gets too hot in my opinion, if anything it feels like the coolest running pump I have ever used.
As a side note, pump did not come as pictured... it was missing the silver pressure hose connection. Thankfully connections seem to be universal and was able to use the fitting from the old pump.
I do need to add though that the pump looks to be well manufactured...clean casting, an nice machining...not sure why mine is problematic. Was also a breeze to install.

the gun works also but the one i got does not completely shut off water flow when the trigger is released......very disappointed.
anyway in all fairness to the seller i cannot blame them for this problem as they are not the manufacturers and this might not be the case for all of the guns.......im probably just unlucky.
WOULD'NT MIND A REPLACEMENT THOUGH.........smile!!

The hose needs to remain close to the bottom of the tank in order to empty the water tank completely. This filter works well because it is weighted and rests properly on the bottom of the tank. Other filters I have tried are not weighted and do not stay close to the bottom of the tank.

I said i just wanted a refund so they told me i would have to send the broke 1 back and they sent me a shipping label. I shipped broke nozzle back with a note about having to pay for shipping on defective product. 2 days later i get a new nozzle in the mail and 3 days after that i get a refund minus shipping. Cheap product but great customer service from Northern Tool Co.

The flow is sooo low, and the swiveling washing head seems to disperse almost all the pressure before it gets to the floor so that it is almost useless. I have better luck with the garden hose and the spray nozzle. Although all the accessories came inside the box, there is simply no way that they will all fit back into the box. As well, the car brushes and the rest of the stuff in the box are simply accessories that add no value to the package - this is a cheap washer. I guess, once again, you get what you pay for. I wish I had upgraded to something more solid with a serious water flow and some real pressure.

I used it to insert a hose faucet just upstream from my showerhead so I didn't have to fix the leaky original valve behind the wall. The faucets are all 3/4" on the downstream side, so this fitting brings the size back down to the 1/2" showerheads require. Solid and simple, could be cheaper.

(More customer reviews)I bought this pump last year to replace the one that failed on my 8hp Generiac pressure washer. This pump is not ceramic like the original, but has already lasted longer than the original unit. It bolted on just fine, I had to get an adapter for one of the fittings, but no big deal. This unit has been a good replacement for a power washer that is used by the neighborhood for washing their house before painting. I don't know if it would hold up for professional, but for us it has been fine. 3 houses done, and it is still working. To powerfull for washing cars though, it took the paint right off my montero bumper, and the labels off my fiberglass ladders.
