There was no way to do this without stressing the plastic. For a product with 'Karcher' in the title, I would expect the fittings to match. I would be aware to buy if you don't want to go through this hassle.

Total of approximately 10 Hrs.before the pump seized up and shut down the unit.STANLEY OWNERS MANUEL puts you in touch with GXI , the company that supplies the electric motor,pump, etc..for this piece of junk.They wanted me to send them the entire unit back to them and my credit card number and they would decide how to handle the problem which could cost as much as a new unit and all i wanted was for them to send me a new pump assembly.I have searched the Internet over and over and CAN NOT find a replacement.I WOULD LIKE STANLEY TO PROVIDE THE CUSTOMER WITH A PRODUCT THAT THEY COULD PURCHASE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR.MAYBE A PRODUCT CUSTOMER SATISFICATION PERSON FROM STANLEY COULD HELP OUT HERE.I purchase a lot from Amazon because of their return policy and good pricing and they should know about this JUNK.I have seen documentation from people with the same problem.

I decided on electric over gas after discussions with landscapers and deck builders. Both advised that long term use of the more powerful gas washers raised the grain too much on wood decks and resulted in damage. Also, both suggested that if you are not using a gas powered washer often, they become difficult to start and run poorly. This from guys who use them regularly and still experience those problems. I wanted something easy to use and easily stored. I find it simple to operate and so does my wife.
The rotating scrubber head works very well on both wood and concrete--especially exposed aggregate. The other head works pretty well but I recently had trouble with it maintaining pressure. We've used it on our wood deck, exposed aggregate pool deck, concrete and asphalt driveway. It's worked just fine. Again you don't have unlimited pressure but the 1850 provided more than enough to complete each job faster and better than a regular hose.
I have not experienced any problems with hooking up the hoses but I'm pretty careful about it. Nothing has worn out but the handle used on the hose reel fell off. I think a larger screw will solve that problem.
Easy to use. Easy to store. Just make sure you have a large enough extension cord and you are using a receptacle that has few other demands as it will trip a breaker otherwise.
Nice little machine that makes household projects a lot easier. No waiting or paying ridiculous costs for a "professional" pressure washer. I would give 5 stars but I'm waiting to see how it holds up in the long term.

(More customer reviews)This product arrived in non-working/defective order and Amazon has a policy of not accepting returns on this type of equipment, yet the manufacturer refuses to take any responsibility for this defective product. I'm still trying to resolve the situation with Amazon and with Campbell Hausfeld, which by the way, keeps you waiting on their customer service line for over an hour even in off hours. I've ended up purchasing another better pressure washer from the local Home Depot that was better quality and lower price just to get the job I needed done.
In more detail, it appears that Campbell Hausfeld does not bother to properly empty the oil out of the unit, contrary to the shipping requirements of Fedex (who delivered this) and other shippers. The oil saturated the sparkplugs, air filter and other parts of the engine. I'm not engine expert so that is just one problem; I would not be surprised if there are others.
If I was a first time customer with Amazon, this would be enough to never come back, but I definitely will never ever buy anything from Campbell Hausfeld again.
I'd suggest you check with the manufacturer first before buying anything from Amazon that is not returnable, such as any gas-powered equipment, and also check prices at Home Depot - I certainly wish I had never made this purchase.

Hooked everything up (after a trip to Lowes to get a proper brass fitting in order to hook up the water hose. The one they supply is a brass female-female fitting that does not swivel so its useless. After I finally got everything hooked up. It didnt work !!! It went from high pressure and then a trickle. It kept doing this over and over with a loud whine to it. Then it stopped working. Im giving up on electric pressure washers made in China. Got an RMA from Amazon (thank you) and will ship it back for a refund.

(More customer reviews)I have to admit that maybe I was expecting too much from these brushes. I thought that with the power generated by the pressure washer the brushes would spin MUCH faster. But it appears that the nozzle controlling the water flow and the gearing is set to keep the spin rate down. This may be fine for use on something with a fine finish like a car, but I was hoping to use it to clean the patio furniture, siding, etc. and I think that it could benefit from higher RPM's for these tasks.
Other than that, the brushes seem to be of good quality and the attachments all fit very well.

(More customer reviews)Well packed, good manual. Easy to maneuver with two large wheels in back and caster in front. Sometimes too easy to roll when on inclined surface. But this design preferable to prior upright washer that wouldn't budge unless moved with handle. Low center of gravity, it never threatens to tip over.
With first use Powerwasher worked fine until I released the nozzle trigger. The motor switch is designed to stop instantly when pressure limit reached. That was one of the main features I wanted. The motor labored for a few seconds and quit. And wouldn't resume. After trial and error I found extension cord was burned out. I replaced extension cord. Unit worked fine until I released trigger. Two cords burned out. With a third extension cord I was able to wash, stop, wash, stop repeatedly. I assume the pressure switch was initially stuck and allowed the motor to pump and labor until the current draw was so great it burned the extension cords.
As is common, in some areas the designers favored cute over safety and utility. The handle is tapered. Looks pretty, but feels like it's ready to slide out of your hand. Fortunately the unit is light and easy to carry. The cord spool is small diameter and requires too many turns to wind/unwind. Also rear spool end is square on the bottom. I haven't cut myself on the square corners, but it's uncomfortable. The design further aggravates because the inlet water hose adapter protrudes into the space your hand needs to wind the cord on the spool. Although it wouldn't have been as cute, they could have made a couple of tabs on top of the body so a user could easily, quickly and safely wind/unwind the cord. Also they should have made provision to store the GFI plug. The Powerwasher's sleek tapered front looks cute. However it should have been square because the pressure coupling is partially enclosed by the tapered bottom half. It could have been designed for quicker and more comfortable hookup.
After the initial problem, it has worked flawlessly. It's not a brute but it's handy and reliable for small cleaning jobs, or even big ones if you're patient. The instant on/off feature means you don't have to worry about burning out the unit if you are interrupted for minutes or even hours. I haven't detected any worrisome laboring sound or smell or performance deviation. It's a bargain and despite the negatives I love it.

The unit is lightweight and easy to move. It has a variety of included attachments to tackle almost all jobs around the home. One nice feature is the adjustable spray tip on the wide-angle wand. The unit has a lot of power for an electrical pressure washer -- more than enough to clean driveways, decks, grills, mowers, etc.
Cons:
As mentioned in many other reviews, the plastic hose adapter leaks water, right in the middle where the two washers meet. The leaking is so bad as to make the unit unusable, unless you enjoy being sprayed with a torrent of water while you work. The solution: go down to your local hardware store and buy a brass male-to-male hose adapter for 8 bucks. Now you are in business.
The high-pressure hose that runs from the unit to the spray-gun is made from a stiff plastic that tangles easily and is hard to manage as you move around. I am currently researching buying an after-market hose made from high quality rubber to avoid this problem.
Also, don't bother storing the hose using the built-in reel. It is fussy work trying to get the hose on and off, and bending the hose in tight circles makes it that much easier to tangle when you use it. Simply coil the hose loosely and drop it around the top of the handle. This will save you lots of time.
Final thoughts: This unit provides a good value among other electric pressure washers, if you don't mind upgrading the hose adapter and dealing with a slightly annoying hose.
