There was no way to do this without stressing the plastic. For a product with 'Karcher' in the title, I would expect the fittings to match. I would be aware to buy if you don't want to go through this hassle.

Total of approximately 10 Hrs.before the pump seized up and shut down the unit.STANLEY OWNERS MANUEL puts you in touch with GXI , the company that supplies the electric motor,pump, etc..for this piece of junk.They wanted me to send them the entire unit back to them and my credit card number and they would decide how to handle the problem which could cost as much as a new unit and all i wanted was for them to send me a new pump assembly.I have searched the Internet over and over and CAN NOT find a replacement.I WOULD LIKE STANLEY TO PROVIDE THE CUSTOMER WITH A PRODUCT THAT THEY COULD PURCHASE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR.MAYBE A PRODUCT CUSTOMER SATISFICATION PERSON FROM STANLEY COULD HELP OUT HERE.I purchase a lot from Amazon because of their return policy and good pricing and they should know about this JUNK.I have seen documentation from people with the same problem.

When I tried to use it for only the second time ever this year, it wouldn't even attempt to operate. I then contacted manufacturer (rather than Amazon) as the owner's manual indicated I should, but the manufacturer would not even talk to me and gave the lame excuse that I had purchased the item through Amazon. This company absolutely refused to even try to help me troubleshoot the problem on the online chat site they provided. For the record, I was not asking for a replacement or a refund, only for a representative to help me troubleshoot the problem I was having with their product.
I do not do business with companies that exhibit such blatant disregard for customer service after the sale, and therefore cannot recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)I bought a surface cleaner from a "big box" store that was lousy. It broke halfway into the first use.
After a little research, I found this Northstar Surface Cleaner available at a local Northern Tools location. It's a solid, well-built metal unit. Super-simple to assemble--just screw on the extension to the base.
The only problem I had was initially the cleaning heads didn't rotate very well. I "tweaked" the angle of the heads (used a crescent wrench to move the threaded heads) so there was more "thrust" and then voila!, it worked like a champ.
There are cheaper surface cleaners, but like every tool the better built stuff usually costs a little more. This is well worth it in my view. I cleaned my back patio, both walkways and then my driveway a few hours. (Note that I did have to go back and wash off the loose residue from the concrete. This cleaner does a good job of "blasting" the gunk up, but not pushing it in one direction to remove it from the surface completely.)

(More customer reviews)I had this pressure washer sitting brand new and unused in my garage for nearly two years when I finally got around to using it. I had a problem with it where after starting the engine I'd get high pressure for about 3 seconds and then the water flow would stop altogether, while the engine kept running. I called the 800 number in the manual, and they put me through to an engineer who knew what the problem was - a "check valve" near the outlet hose that got sticky after the item sat unused for two years. He walked me through how to remove the valve and clean it up, and after that it worked like a charm, and has since then. The tech guy was obviously intimately familiar with every nut and bolt on this machine, and could immediately diagnose and clearly explain how to fix the problem. He offered to send me a new valve no charge, but it wasn't necessary. The Honda engine starts easy every time. I wouldn't have thought to review this product, but I was so impressed with the tech support that I just had to give some credit where it's due.

High Pressure Hose 20' Review

(More customer reviews)The first pressure hose busted after 30 hours of use. It kinked and then sprung a leek. I got this one as a replacement. I've tried to be super careful about not kinking it, always untwisting it, detaching it from the machine to transport, etc. Yet, it still kinked and this weakens the hose, which has less then 20 hours of use. Also, the threading is made of plastic, not metal, which will strip. Unfortunately for my model Karcher, this is the only option I had. The generic hoses did not fit.

This cleaner did a better job and it only took an hour and a half. The price tag can cause sticker shock, but if you have to clean large decks and/or drives, I highly recommend it.

Hooked everything up (after a trip to Lowes to get a proper brass fitting in order to hook up the water hose. The one they supply is a brass female-female fitting that does not swivel so its useless. After I finally got everything hooked up. It didnt work !!! It went from high pressure and then a trickle. It kept doing this over and over with a loud whine to it. Then it stopped working. Im giving up on electric pressure washers made in China. Got an RMA from Amazon (thank you) and will ship it back for a refund.

It had just enough power not to splinter the wood, and still do an adequate job of removing the paint. You can purchase other attachments on their website to make it more functional. I'm using it to power wash everything now, from my truck to the gas grill. I am very pleased with it.
